# API docs from ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini

Add the Skmtc MCP server to your assistant, then attach an OpenAPI schema
or give its URL in a chat. The assistant calls the `create_api_docs` tool,
which publishes the schema to your Skmtc account and gives you the link to the
docs. This page tells you how to add the server to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

Each assistant uses the same address:

```text
https://mcp.skmtc.dev/mcp/publish
```

The first time the assistant uses the server, you sign in with GitHub. For
the tools and the other endpoint, see [Connect your agent over MCP](/docs/mcp).

## Private and public docs [#private-and-public-docs]

The docs are private unless you ask for public docs. Only you can read
private docs. To get public docs, say so in your message, for example "Make
public API docs from this schema". For private docs, the reply also gives the
settings page of the API. To make the docs public later, change the visibility
on that page.

## ChatGPT [#chatgpt]

When Skmtc is in the ChatGPT plugin directory, add it from there. Until then,
add it as a custom MCP server:

1. Go to [chatgpt.com/plugins](https://chatgpt.com/plugins).
2. Select **+**, then **Add custom MCP server**.
3. Enter the name `Skmtc` and a description.
4. Under **Connection**, enter the URL `https://mcp.skmtc.dev/mcp/publish`.
5. Set the authentication to OAuth. Read the risk warning, then select **I understand and want to continue**.
6. Select **Create as a plugin**, and check the tools that ChatGPT shows.

Install the plugin and start a new chat. Type `@` and select Skmtc. Then
attach the schema file or give its URL, and ask for API docs. Your account and
workspace policies control whether you can add a custom MCP server. See
[Connect from ChatGPT](https://developers.openai.com/apps-sdk/deploy/connect-chatgpt).

## Claude [#claude]

Add Skmtc as a custom connector. A free plan can add one custom connector.

1. Go to **Customize > Connectors**.
2. Select **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. Enter the name `Skmtc` and the URL `https://mcp.skmtc.dev/mcp/publish`, then select **Continue**.
4. Check the authentication settings, then select **Continue**.
5. Under **Authentication**, select **Sign in now**. Under **OAuth client**, select **Register automatically**.
6. Select **Add**, then sign in with GitHub.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds the connector for the
organization. The owner goes to **Organization settings > Connectors**,
selects **Add**, then **Custom > Web**, and does steps 3 to 6. Each member then goes to
**Customize > Connectors**, finds Skmtc and selects **Connect**.

In a chat, select **+**, then **Connectors**, and turn on Skmtc. Then attach
the schema file or give its URL, and ask for API docs. See
[Get started with custom connectors using remote MCP](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp).

In Claude Code, add the server with this command:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport http skmtc https://mcp.skmtc.dev/mcp/publish
```

Then run `/mcp`, select `skmtc` and sign in. Give Claude Code the path or
the URL of the schema, and ask for API docs.

## Gemini [#gemini]

Add Skmtc as a custom app. Custom apps have these limits:

- You sign in to Gemini with a personal Google Account, not a work or school account.
- You are 18 or older and in the US.
- You use Gemini in English.
- Keep Activity is on.
- You add the app in the Gemini web app. After that, it also works in the Gemini mobile app.

To add the app:

1. Go to [gemini.google.com](https://gemini.google.com).
2. Select **Settings**, then **Connected Apps**.
3. Under **Custom apps**, select **Add a custom app**.
4. Enter the URL `https://mcp.skmtc.dev/mcp/publish`, then select **Next**.
5. Do the steps on the screen, and sign in with GitHub.

In a chat, type `@` and select Skmtc. Then attach the schema file or give
its URL, and ask for API docs. See
[Connect custom apps to Gemini](https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/17209137).
